Veggie Boxes

How Does It Work?

For 15 weeks during the season (starting mid-late June), you’ll get a box of a lovely variety of fresh produce grown by our farmers! By working together, our farmers can offer the most diverse vegetable box around! All of the produce comes from local farms, so you would be supporting Garrett County local agriculture.

When Would I Receive My Veggie Box?

To make things more convenient for your schedule, we offer Veggie Boxes twice each week. You select the day that is better for you. Our farmers pick and pack their fresh produce on the delivery day. Once the delivery driver picks up from the farmers, the veggie boxes are assembled and packed into the reusable crates and delivered to your door or your requested pick-up location.

How Do I Get My Veggie Box?

If you live along our delivery route, you can have your Veggie Box delivered to your door. If not, or if you would rather pick up at one of our pick-up locations, you can select a pick-up location. Pick-up locations are as follows:

  • Deep Creek Pharmacy, Deep Creek
  • Garrett County Extension Office, Mt. Lake Park
  • High Country Creamery, Grantsville
  • Firefly Farms, Accident

To find out if you are on our delivery route, please email us at garrettgrowers@gmail.com. If you would like to request a pick-up location in an area not listed above, please contact us. There is a small additional charge for home delivery.

What If I Do Not Live on the Route, and the Pick-up Location is Not Convenient for Me?

If you do not live on the delivery route, and it is not convenient for you to pick up at one of our pick-up locations, you can arrange with someone you know, or the owner of a business you know, to accept delivery of your box. We will deliver there instead. Just make sure they are agreeable to the delivery.

What Can I Expect from My Veggie Box?

Each week you’ll receive a different variety of fresh produce in your Veggie Box, based upon the seasonailty of Garrett County’s farms. Early on, you’ll have lots of greens, green onions, lettuce, radishes, sugar snaps, strawberries, new potatoes, herbs, etc. Later on, you’ll receive things like raspberries, peppers, blueberries, tomatoes, summer squash, green beans, corn, and much more! Toward the middle to end of the summer, you’ll start getting winter squash, beets, celery, pumpkins, and so forth. The quantity each week should feed a family of four.

What Does a Veggie Box Look Like?

We will pack a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs in your Veggie Box. Your vegetables will come inside a returnable crate each week. Just leave the empty crate for us to pick up the next time. We wash and sanitize the crates each week. You can see pictures of some previous Veggie Boxes on this page.

What Does It Cost?

  • If you purchase a single Veggie Box delivered to your home or business, which is located on our route, the cost is $30 for 15 weeks. You’ll receive an average of $27 worth of produce in your box.
  • If there are 3 or more boxes delivered to your house or place of business each week, the cost is only $27 per week.
  • If you pick up at a pick-up location, the cost is $27 per week.
